Today's blog is one I have been sitting thinking about for awhile. I have posted blogs before about online hate. But something lately has been bugging me. As of late i have noticed an upswing in hate directed towards Honda owners and sites. This hate comes from most of the usual suspects like domestics and euro owners. But what has gotten to me is the fact the hate is becoming even greater from within the import tuning scene. I expect this from some domestic owners. After all they wanna make anything that doesn't have a V-8 in it look bad. Not all of them are like this, as there are open minded domestic car enthusiasts out there. Even the euro people i can this from as it is a rivalry after all. But the hate from fellow import tuners really gets to me. I understand that there will always be a brand rivalry. But the outright hate within the community is a bit unsettling. To see fellow Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Subaru import owners making fun of every Honda or owner just gets to me. I am a Honda owner. I have owned several. I like them. They are fun cars. For the amount of money you can spend on one you can build a cheap car for street or track use. I am bigger fan of Nissan cars, myself. I would love to own a Nissan but don't see the downside of a Honda either. I know there are a few Honda owners that are out there that give us a bad name. But if I based how every type of car person is by a certain few. Then every Camaro and Mustang owners are complete douchebags. I had had a few try to rev on me at every red light. Saying things to me and making fun of me. But I know that not every owner is like that. Met several domestics owners that love to talk about cars no matter what the brand.
Fourm trollers are the absolute worse when it comes to talking hate online. They will get on sites dedicated to Hondas. Then begin to spew hateful words towards the cars and owners. This is one of my main pet peeves. To actually attack the owner of the car and not personally know them is a low move. It shows how this hateful person has no class. This is particularly bad on any site dedicated toward Honda owners. Why? I am not sure. I don't know if it is because Hondas do allow a lot more people to modify cars that normally wouldn't. Yes they are inexpensive cars. You can get lots of parts for them fairly cheap. But that does not make them bad cars. It also does not make the owners bad people. If you believe you are better than any other car owner you are wrong. That type of attitude shows your level of immaturity. I do believe it is time for a lot of people to grow up in this industry.
I do believe that healthy rivalries are OK. It is good to have some fun with fellow car enthusiasts. But please keep the hate towards yourself. We all deserve to be able to enjoy this hobby of ours. Not just you. If someone wants to build a Honda, Ford, Nissan, Chevy, Toyota or whatever let them. Encourage them to build the best car they can. Don't attack the person for what they like. Let's make this fun for everyone. Cause other wise me may drive people out of the industry. It is a sad day when someone leaves the scene because of hatred for no good reason.

A real car enthusiast
The other day I posted on a pic of an Acura RSX on Facebook. This paticular RSX was built for track days. It was a well built RSX. Clearly someone had put a lot of time and effort into building this car. Right as I posted a comment on the pic did the hate start coming in. People complained about the wing, or the wheels, or that it wasn't hellaflush, or needed moar low, and lastly it was a Honda. Kinda ironic that someone complained it was a Honda on a Honda page. As I read the comments it began to hit me, there are less car enthusiasts out there. More and more it seems people get into the car world to follow trends. They only want to see cars that are built in there particular style. It doesn't matter to them if the car is well built. They will hat on it if it is built any other way than they like. The problem with this comes from inter net "thugs". They tell everyone why their style is right. If you don't like it, they will go after you personally. It is a shame that people no longer respect cars for what they are. So I have decided I am going to I to show what it takes to be a real car enthusiast.
1. A real car enthusiast respects car for the time and effort that went into their build.
2. A real car enthusiast will look at the build as a whole. Meaning they give credit to a build no matter what style the car is built for. ie; track car, stance or everyday car.
3. A real car enthusiast does not discriminate on the country of origin of the car. Meaning if you are an import car fan you still can respect well built domestic and European cars.
4. A real car enthusiast can attended any type of show or race and be happy.
5. A real car enthusiast loves all genres of cars. From hot rods, rat rods, muscle cars, imports either: track, stance, or street, euros, exotics, choppers, led sleds, mini trucks to off-road vehicles.
I personally am friends with people that have different tastes in cars as me. The good thing about it is we all respect fine built cars. Cause after all we are all automotive enthusiasts. Thereis no need for hate in our world. We should be proud of what we build. Not worry about people out there waiting to hate on us because we don't fit in their "scene". Remember folks get out there and build your car and be proud of it!
